India: National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Khaplang (NSCN-K) militants gun down 8 Assam Rifles men near Myanmar border

Suspected rebels on Sunday ambushed and killed eight Indian paramilitary soldiers in the remote, troubled northeast, police said.

Naga rebels armed with automatic weapons fired at two trucks carrying the soldiers in Nagaland state, in a region bordering Myanmar, police said. The mountainous region is known for its natural beauty but has been battling insurgency for decades.

Iraq: Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists kills 300 Yazidi captives west of Mosul

Several hundred Yazidi captives have been killed in Iraq by Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists west of Mosul, Yazidi and Iraqi officials said Saturday, according to the BBC.

A statement from the Yazidi Progress Party said 300 captives were killed on Friday in the Tal Afar district near the city.

Iraqi Vice President Osama al-Nujaifi described the reported deaths as “horrific and barbaric”.

Pakistan: Army air strikes kill 44 militants in Khyber Agency in North Waziristan

At least 44 suspected militants were killed in Khyber and North Waziristan where Pakistan Air Force (PAF) carried out air strikes, ISPR said in a statement on Saturday.

“Forty four militants were killed in aerial bombardment in Kach Kul and Kunda Gharibai area of Khyber Agency and Data Khel of North Wazirsitan,” a security official confirmed on Saturday.

Saudi Arabia: 3 Saudi troops and dozens of Yemeni rebels killed in border clashes

Three Saudi soldiers were killed along with dozens of Yemeni rebels in overnight border clashes Friday, according to AP.

Yemeni rebels reportedly attacked border posts late Friday in the Najran province while Saudi troops backed by fighter jets retaliated, the kingdom’s Defense Ministry confirmed.

Burma-Myanmar: Mongla rebels say that full control of region brought development

Leaders of the Mongla rebel group told visiting ethnic leaders and reporters of their achievements in developing Special Region 4 in northeastern Shan State on Tuesday, saying they had “full control” over the area and established “a complete system of government” that provides adequate public services.

“We supply 24 hours of electric power here because we have our own hydropower dam,” a Mongla leader named Sai Mauk told ethnic armed group leaders and journalists during a dinner at Mongla town on Tuesday night.
