Israeli aircraft struck a handful of targets in Gaza early Wednesday morning (local time) in retaliation for a rocket attack Tuesday.
“Following yesterday’s rocket attack against #Israel, #IDF aircraft attacked 4 terrorist locations in southern #Gaza,” Israeli Defense Force Spokesman Peter Lerner said on Twitter at about 9:30 p.m. EDT Tuesday.

A commander of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, also known as FARC, was killed in a bombing raid near the town of Riosucio on Monday.
Alfredo Alarcon Machado, better known as Ramón Ruiz, who led the 18th division of the FARC in northwest Colombia, was killed along with four other rebel members. The Colombian Air Force bombed a rebel position in the Choco province.

Yemen’s pro-government fighters have pushed out Shite rebels and their allies and retaken a southern city that’s the gateway to the port of Aden in their first significant advance since a Saudi-led coalition launched airstrikes on the rebel group, officials said Tuesday.
Coalition strikes, which began in March in an effort to halt the power grab by the rebels known as Houthis, also continued on Tuesday across Yemen, targeting positions of the rebels and their allies.

Iraq on Tuesday announced the launch of a military operation to drive the Islamic State group out of the western Anbar province, where the extremists captured the provincial capital, Ramadi, earlier this month.
Iraqi state TV declared the start of the operation, in which troops will be backed by Shiite and Sunni paramilitary forces, but did not provide further details.

68 people have been wounded in a suicide attack in restive Zabul province, hospital sources confirmed on Monday.
Haji Ata Jan Haqbayan, head of the provincial council of Zabul province said that a suicide attacker riding in an explosives-laden truck carried out a huge explosion in front of the front gate of the compound of provincial council around 11:00 AM this morning.
