A large contingent of Ethiopian troops has crossed into Somalia, reports from Gedo region indicated Wednesday.
Eyewitnesses in Dolo town, 450 kilometres southwest of Mogadishu, told the media that the troops proceeded to Luq, about 100 kilometres away.

Yemen’s warring factions on Thursday agreed to a temporary humanitarian ceasefire set to begin on Friday night, United Nations envoy Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed said, according to Reuters.
The pause in the fighting will last about a week until the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, with the goal of allowing the delivery of assistance to some of the 21 million Yemenis in need.

A battle took place between KIA’s 7th Battalion troops and a combined force of Burmese Army troops under 33rd Light Infantry Division and Putao-based 46th and 138th Light Infantry Regiments on the road between Sumpra Bum and Mali Yang on July 6.
In northern Shan State, KIA’s 38th Battalion troops engaged in a battle against Burmese Army troops under 77th Light Infantry Division (LID) near Nam Jak village in Muse Township on July 5 at 8:30 am, reported KIA front line source.
