A Cameroonian soldier and 20 Boko Haram militants were killed in clashes between Cameroonian forces and the Nigerian militant group in the Far North region near the Nigerian border, Colonel Issa Bouba told Anadolu Agency on Tuesday.
“Late Monday night, Boko Haram militants attacked the village of Archighacha,” Bouba said. “Cameroonian forces fought back and the enemy withdrew”.

Turkey carried out airstrikes on 17 Kurdish militant targets in the southeastern province of Hakkari on Monday and Tuesday, the military said, ramping up an offensive against the insurgents.
Turkey has been buffeted by increased fighting between its military and the outlawed Kurdistan People’s Party (PKK), which has waged a three-decade insurgency for greater Kurdish autonomy.

The Islamic State (ISIL) jihadist group failed in an attempt to occupy the Kweiris military airbase in the Syrian northern province of Aleppo, leaving 26 militants dead, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said.
The attack took place on Sunday, according to SOHR. The jihadist group blew up three vehicles targeting airport walls, before the Syrian army repelled the assault.

A radical Marxist group has claimed responsibility for a gun attack on the US consulate in Istanbul.
The Iranian-linked Revolutionary People’s Liberation Front (DHKP-C) said on its website that one of its female terrorists carried out the attack.

A Sudanese military official on Saturday said the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) has recaptured a strategic town from the rebel Sudan People’s Liberation Movement/North (SPLM-N) in the Blue Nile state.
The commander of the fourth infantry division in the Blue Nile capital of Damazin, Osman Sid Ahmed, told Ashorooq TV website that his forces on Saturday have entered Taroda area on the edges of the Ingasana Mountains.
