Dozens of Daesh (IS) militants were killed in a day of coalition airstrikes and clashes with security forces in Iraq’s Anbar province, according to security sources and battle damage reports.
A provincial security source, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Xinhua news agency airstrikes by the US-led coalition on Sunday destroyed a car bomb factory in Fallujah, killing an unknown number of the militants.

The Afghan National Army said its forces killed 100 militants during several military operations carried out across the country over the weekend.
The operations, which occurred in 11 of Afghanistan’s 34 provinces, were conducted in a 24-hour period from Saturday afternoon into Sunday, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Scores of residents fled Mareergur locality on Friday, fearing a bloody fighting between Ahlu-Sunna Waljama’a fighters and forces of Galmudug State.
“There are so many fighters and weapons in Mareergur,” resident in the locality “Some people have started fleeing the areas for fear of the fighting. Most people are saying they have no option but to support whoever takes over the locality.”

Yemen’s Shiite rebels intensified attacks against pro-government forces on Saturday in the southern city of Taiz, as they pushed to seize a strategic mountain and landmark positions in the city ahead of scheduled peace talks, security officials said.
The fighting in Yemen’s third-largest city left 14 people dead and 27 wounded, with the toll including both fighters and civilians, said the officials, who remain neutral in a conflict that has splintered security forces.
