Thirteen people, including seven Congolese soldiers and two civilians, were killed on Thursday in clashes between Ugandan Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels and Congolese army forces in the eastern part of the country.
“A two-hour clash took place this morning between army forces and Ugandan rebels who attacked military positions in Mamove,” a military source told Anadolu Agency.

The Saudi-led coalition battling Iran-backed insurgents sent more military vehicles and troops across the border into Yemen on Friday in preparation for an offensive to retake the capital, military officials said.
The arrival of reinforcements came as coalition warplanes killed seven rebels in an air raid Friday in eastern Yemen, where Apache helicopters have also joined the fight against the Huthi Shiite insurgents.

The military announced Thursday the killing of 86 “takfiri elements” and the arrest of another 195 in the last three days, as part of operation “Retribution for the martyr” against militant groups in North Sinai.
The military further stated in a press release that 13 vehicles and 67 motorcycles were destroyed, used by “terrorists” in attacks. The army also said that it discovered five new tunnels dug near the border zone.

Nigeria’s army has hoisted the country’s flag in Gamboru Ngala, a border town with neighboring Cameroon, days after recapturing it from the Islamist militant group Boko Haram.
The militants had used the town as a stronghold to launch attacks, including kidnappings and murder in both Nigeria and Cameroon.

Syrian government troops have lost control over a major military airbase in the northwestern province of Idlib.
The troops pulled out of the Abu al-Duhur base after a two-year siege by Islamist-led rebels, according to a news flash broadcast Wednesday on Syrian state television.
