At least fourty seven fighters were killed in northern Syria in renewed fighting between the Islamic State group jihadists and rebels in Aleppo province, reports said on Saturday.
The fighting occurred on the town of Marea, which the IS has been trying to capture from the rebel forces who are in control. Twenty-seven IS jihadists and twenty Islamist and other rebel fighters were killed in clashes over the last two days.

Al-Shabaab said it had seized two small towns in the Lower Shabelle region - El Saliindi, 65 km (40 miles) south of Mogadishu en route to the port town of Marka, and Kuntuwarey, on the road between the capital and the port of Barawe.
The militant group, which is seeking to overthrow the government in Somalia, stages regular attacks on the AU-led peacekeeping force and on Somali officials as the country struggles to rebuild after more than two decades of chaos.

At least 50 soldiers from the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain were killed in Yemen on Friday in the deadliest attack on Gulf Arab troops in the Saudi-led military campaign against Houthi forces, Gulf news agencies said.
The incident took place in the oil-producing Marib area of central Yemen near the border with Saudi Arabia, apparently when Houthis rocket fire hit a weapons store at a military camp.
