An opposition group from Western Equatoria state, Revolutionary Movement For National Salvation (REMNASA) declared on Wednesday its merger with the Sudan Peoples’ Liberation Movement-In- Opposition (SPLM-IO), led by first vice-president designate, Riek Machar.
The merger was signed on Wednesday in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, between Henry Odwar, head of the SPLM-IO negotiating committee with the group and REMNASA chairperson, Martin James Cleto,.

Nigerian troops have rescued 338 captives, almost all women and children, from Boko Haram camps in a forest in the north-east of the country, the military has said.
A defence headquarters statement on Wednesday said 30 extremists were killed the previous day in raids on two camps on the fringes of the insurgents’ stronghold in Sambisa Forest.

Turkey has confirmed that the country’s military has attacked fighters from the main Kurdish force in northern Syria.
Members of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) on Sunday accused the Turkish military of opening fire at its forces in Tal Abyad after the majority Arab town was included into a Kurdish enclave.
In a TV interview late on Monday, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that Turkey had warned the PYD not to cross to the “west of the Euphrates and that we would hit it the moment it did.”

Leftist rebels in Colombia ambushed a group carrying regional election ballots, killing 12 members of the security forces, officials say.
The group had left an indigenous reservation in the northern Guican province when it was hit, defence minister Luis Carlos Villegas said.

The IAF struck two Hamas targets in southern Gaza a few hours after a rocket attack on southern Israel. The IDF Spokesman Unit said that it viewed Hamas as being responsible for all terrorist activities in the Strip.
A rocket exploded in an open area of the Gaza border region in the South earlier Monday evening.
