Yemen: Yemeni resistance repels a major Houthi rebels offensive in Taiz
Yemen’s national army and resistance repulsed a major offensive launched by the Iranian-backed Houthis and their allies in the Southwestern town of Taiz as the coup rebels tried to block relief aid being smuggled into the besieged city.
Military sources said heavy fighting erupted South of Taiz, during which 19 coup insurgents were killed and 27 wounded, adding that the national forces seized a large quantity of weapons left by the rebels after they retreated.
“The Houthis and their allies launched a major offensive near the Southern entrance of Taiz to block aid into the city but they were repelled by the army backed by the national resistance,” a source said, quoted by Yemen’s Marib Press network.
