Syria: Russian air strikes kill at least 40 people in rebel-controlled town of Ariha
Russian air strikes may have killed more than 40 people and wounded dozens more in Syria, according to reports.
Jets bombed the rebel-controlled town of Ariha in northwest Syria earlier today, with the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights claiming at least 60 people had been killed and wounded in the attack.
But the pro-opposition Orient TV reported an initial death toll of 40.
The Russian air force has been conducting air strikes in support of president Bashar al-Assad since September 30.
