More than 600 militants were killed by Russian cruise missiles in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor province, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said on Friday.
“The terrorist gangs suffer major losses. Over 600 militants were killed as a result of a cruise missile strikes on one of the targets near Deir ez-Zor,” Shoigu told President Vladimir Putin.

At least 18 dead bodies were found inside the Radisson Blu hotel in the Malian capital of Bamako on Friday after an attack that was claimed by an armed group affiliated with Al-Qaeda.
While over 150 hostages were believed to have been held at one point during the siege, Mali’s Security Minister Salif Traore said no more hostages were being held at the hotel, which was attacked by gunmen also armed with grenades and subsequently stormed by Malian special forces. Two gunmen were killed in the subsequent government raid, according to the Malian military.

170 hostages have been taken at the Radisson Blu hotel in Bamako, Mali. Jihadist terrorists stormed the hotel this morning and have already killed 3 people.
The hotel is regularly used by tourists and airline crews including Air France.

Burma’s Armed Forces continued their offensive on Kachin Independence Army (KIA) positions in Kachin State’s Mohnyin Township on Thursday, firing artillery rounds since 7 am, according to locals.
KIA spokesperson La Nan told The Irrawaddy earlier this week that Kachin forces had already abandoned three bases in the township since Saturday, after “intense” attacks launched by government troops who utilized a jet fighter, helicopter gunships and ground artillery.

At least 30 Al Houthi militants were killed in air strikes in the last 24 hours in Taiz as coalition forces carried out at least 20 air strikes.
The most recent air strikes on Wednesday targeted militants positioned near Taiz University. Six Al Houthi military vehicles that were carrying reinforcements were also bombed.
