The Syrian army has captured a key southern town from rebel forces after weeks of fierce fighting, a Syrian activist group says.
The fall of Sheikh Maskin on Monday means government forces will strengthen their hold on Deraa province, while cutting off rebel factions from key supply lines.

Four suicide bombers attacked a market and town on Monday in Cameroon’s Far North region near the border with Nigeria, killing at least 28 people and wounding 65 others, officials said.
Two attackers targeted the market in Bodo and two others detonated explosives in town, said the region’s governor, Midjiyawa Bakari. The wounded have been taken to hospitals in Kousseri, he said.

A rocket fired from Gaza landed in southern Israel and IDF fighter jets reportedly responded with an attack on Hamas targets inside the Palestinian-controlled coastal strip.
The rocket fired at Israel landed in an open area and there were no injuries, officials said.

Kenya has sent more Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldiers to Somalia in its continuing search, rescue and recovery operation, according to a communication from Chief of Defence Forces General Samson Mwathethe.
The troops from various KDF divisions across the country were assembled and sent to the war-torn country to conduct operations in al-Shabaab bases at El Adde and other towns in the Gedo region.

Sixteen loyalists of the (ISIS) group have been killed in newest air strikes in Nangarhar province in eastern Afghanistan.
Two air strikes were conducted on ISIS positions in Abdulkhil and Bandar areas of Achin District leaving six militants killed, Afghan News Agency (Khaama) quoted officials as saying.
