Somalia: Al-Shabaab suicide bombings kill 55 people and wounds 60 in southern Somalia
At least 55 people have been killed and 60 others wounded Sunday in al-Shabaab bombings at a restaurant in the southern town of Baidoa in Somalia.
A car packed with explosives blew up near Bader restaurant, shortly before a female suicide bomber detonated inside the dining establishment, according to Somali security officials and witnesses.
“Before the suicide attacks took place, people were watching the Manchester United versus Arsenal game,” one witness said Sunday.
Al-Shabaab, a Somalia-based militant group, has claimed responsibility for Sunday’s attacks.
