At least 55 people have been killed and 60 others wounded Sunday in al-Shabaab bombings at a restaurant in the southern town of Baidoa in Somalia.
A car packed with explosives blew up near Bader restaurant, shortly before a female suicide bomber detonated inside the dining establishment, according to Somali security officials and witnesses.

A twin suicide bombing claimed by Islamic State killed 70 people in a Shi’ite district of Baghdad on Sunday in the deadliest attack inside the capital this year, as militants launched an assault on its western outskirts.
Police sources said the suicide bombers were riding motorcycles and blew themselves up in a crowded mobile phone market in Sadr City, wounding more than 100 people in addition to the dead.

Hundreds of Burma Army troops have reportedly been deployed to areas of northern Shan State where the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) operates, according to the armed group.
Tar Bang Hla, a communications officer with the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), said up to 2,000 Burma Army troops were deployed in recent days in the wake of recent clashes between the TNLA and the Shan State Army-South (SSA-S).

At least 22 rebels have been killed and seven others wounded airstrikes and a ground offensive in the Dand-i-Ghori locality of northern Baghlan province, an official said on Sunday.
Maj. Javed Salim, spokesman for the 209th Shahin Military Corps Commando Unit, told reporters the insurgents were killed during an overnight operation in Aka Khel, Niazullah and Salangiha areas.

Cameroon’s army has killed 92 members of the Islamist militant group Boko Haram and freed 850 villagers in a joint operation with Nigerian forces, the country’s government has said.
The operation in the Nigerian village of Kumshe, close to the border with Cameroon, was conducted under the auspices of a multinational force fighting Boko Haram, according to the statement from Issa Tchiroma Bakary, Cameroon’s communications minister.
