Nigeria: 2 female suicide bombers kill 56 people in Nigerian refugee camp
Two female suicide bombers blew themselves up in a northeast Nigerian refugee camp, killing at least 56 people, health and rescue officials said Wednesday.
A third woman bomber was arrested and has given officials information about other planned bombings that helped them increase security at the camp, said an official of the Borno State Emergency Management Agency.
Philippines: Army captures a high commander of Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF)
Philippine authorities have captured a high-ranking leader of a key splinter militant group, a military spokesman confirmed Wednesday.
According to Maj. Filemon Tan, the spokesperson for the Philippine military’s Western Mindanao Command, Hassan Indal alias Abu Hazam, the vice-chairman for internal affairs of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Movement (BIFM) and the 4th division commander of its armed wing, the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF), was arrested in his hideout in the village of Kalanganan, west of Cotabato City late Tuesday. His son, Ali Indal, also a BIFF member, was killed during the raid after resisting arrest.
Iraq: Security forces fully liberate city of Ramadi from Islamic State (IS) fighters, government says
Iraqi security forces and the U.S.-led coalition say the government has regained full control of Ramadi after pushing Islamic State group fighters out of the city’s outskirts.
The Ministry of Interior said in a statement Tuesday that a road linking Ramadi to the capital Baghdad is also back under government control.

Syria: Islamic State (IS) suicide bombing kills nine police officers in Damascus
The Islamic State claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing that killed at least nine people at a police club in the Syrian capital on Tuesday.
The attack occurred in the Masaken Barzeh district in northeastern Damascus. The BBC, quoting activists, reported the dead were police officers and at least 20 other people were injured in the blast, which also damaged a nearby vegetable market.
