Clashes intensified on Friday between Shiite rebels and local fighters in the besieged city of Taiz, killing at least 45 fighters on both sides and six civilians over the past 24 hours.
The city has seen heavy fighting between rebels known as Houthis and local resistance units financed and armed by the Saudi-led coalition that is backing Yemen’s internationally recognized government. The local fighters have been advancing and have taken control of Taiz’s western outskirts.

Democratic Syria Forces (QSD) liberated 65% of the village of El-Mekmen that is ISIS’s last military base in the region between Cezîre Canton and the city of Raqqa.
QSD’s operation launched in the name of “Revenge of Êlîn and Cûdî” continues in its sixth day. QSD fighters have liberated 75 km of the region in the south of Kobanî, Girê Spî (Tal Abyad), and Serêkaniyê (Ras Al-Ain).

Lebanese army troops clashed with terrorists in the country’s northeast near the Syrian border today, leaving one soldier and eight gunmen dead, a security official said.
Lebanon has been the scene of frequent violence, including deadly bombings and fighting between terrorists and the army, since war erupted in neighbouring Syria in 2011.

Almost 70 Taliban fighters have been killed during factional infighting within the movement in Afghanistan’s western Herat province, local media reported Wednesday.
Two senior regional leaders were among the 67 militants killed during clashes between Taliban factions, the Khaama Press newspaper reported.

Thirteen Kurdish militants and two Turkish soldiers have been killed during two days of fighting in restive southeastern Turkey, officials say.
The militants from the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) were killed on Monday when a firefight broke out in the town of Idil, which has been under a round-the-clock curfew since February 16 in an effort to root the rebels out.
