Yemen: Saudi Arabia’s strategic military base near Bab Al-Mandeb captured by Yemeni forces

The Yemeni army and popular forces continued their advances in Western Yemen, and seized a strategic military base near Bab al-Mandeb Strait from the Saudi-led troops.

Saudi Arabia’s Al-Shabaka military base is now in control of the Yemeni army and popular forces.

Syria: Syrian army and allies launched a major attack against rebels south of Aleppo

The Syrian army and its allies launched a major attack on insurgents south of Aleppo, described as the fiercest government assault in the area since an agreement to ease the fighting came into effect in February.

Fighting south of Aleppo in recent days has put further strain on the already widely violated ceasefire deal brokered by the United States and Russia with the aim of launching a diplomatic process towards ending the five-year-long war.

Turkey: Turkey hits Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) rebel targets in Iraq

The Turkish military has said it carried out airstrikes in northern Iraq against targets belonging to the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).

In a statement posted on its website, the Turkish Armed Forces said the airstrikes had targeted weapon stores, shelters and other PKK sites in the Qandil area of northern Iraq.

Azerbaijan: Cease fire declared in Nagorno-Karabakh

Azerbaijan and the breakaway region of Nagorno-Karabakh said on Tuesday they were halting hostilities after four days of intense fighting between them that had sparked fears the conflict could spiral into all-out war.

Reuters was not immediately able to verify whether the fighting - a resurgence of a decades-old conflict over the status of the region - had, in fact, stopped.

Sudan: Sudanese warplanes carry out intensified air attacks on Sudan People’s Liberation Movement - North (SPLM-N) rebels in South Kordofan

The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement - North (SPLM-N) Monday said the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) warplanes continue to carry out air attacks on the rebel controlled areas, adding the bombing killed one child and wounded several civilians.

“SAF “Air Force continues to target unarmed civilians, their properties And service facilities in remote areas far from its ground operations sites in South Kordofan / Nuba Mountains,” said SPLM-N spokesperson Arnu Ngutulu Lodi in a statement extended to Sudan Tribune on Monday evening.
