At least 50 people were killed and wounded in clashes which erupted between the Syrian army and Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) on Thursday in the Kurdish city of Qamishli in Rojava, northern Syria.
A well-placed source close to the YPG confirmed to Rudaw that since “5pm clashes have stopped at Qamishli. 30 people were killed, among them six are civilians and others are Syrian army soldiers.”

The Burma Army has threatened renewed military offensives if the Shan State Progress Party/Shan State Army-North (SSPP/SSA-N) refuses to withdraw from two mountain posts bordering ethnic Wa territory, according to local sources.
A sergeant from the SSA-N told The Irrawaddy on the condition of anonymity that his armed group would not abandon these northern Shan State posts and that they would defend their territory in the event of a strike by government forces.

Thirteen people were killed on Tuesday in clashes between the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) army and Mai Mai Simba militia in Central-Biakato locality, Mambasa territory, east of the country.
A local administrator told Xinhua 12 militia fighters and one soldier were killed, and three soldiers were injured in the fighting.

A faction of the Movement of the Taliban in Pakistan, or TTP, claimed credit for two attacks in Karachi that targeted policemen as they guarded members of a polio vaccination team. The Movement of the Taliban in Pakistan has targeted polio vaccination teams in Pakistan’s major cities in the past.
Movement of the Taliban in Pakistan Jamaat-ul-Ahrar “accepts responsibility for the attack on police in Karachi,” Ihsanullah Ihsan, the official spokesman for the group, said in a statement that was emailed to The Long War Journal.

Yemen’s Houthi rebels and their allies have agreed to join delayed UN-brokered peace talks in Kuwait, their representatives said on Wednesday.
The rebels agreed to join the talks after receiving assurances from the UN envoy and ambassadors that a ceasefire in effect since 11 April would be respected by loyalist forces, the rebels’ Al-Masirah television quoted Houthi representative Saleh al-Sammad as saying.
