An Ethiopian official says that armed groups have killed more than 140 civilians near Ethiopia’s border with South Sudan.
The attackers came from South Sudan and killed civilians, including women and children, Getachew Reda, Ethiopia’s communications minister, told the Associated Press on Saturday.

Iraqi army forces announced Thursday the liberation of the key district of Hit in Iraq’s northern province of Anbar from the radical group of Islamic State (ISIS) after several months of fighting.
Local media sources confirmed that the Iraqi army forces have caused the ISIS group heavy losses in manpower and equipment during the las few days.

Yemeni forces backed by Apache helicopters from a Saudi-led coalition wrested the city of Houta from Al-Qaeda militants after a gun battle on Friday morning, a local military official said.
Hours later, a car bomb detonated outside the foreign ministry building in the southern Yemeni city of Aden, causing no casualties, another local official said.

The Sudan Liberation Movement - Abdel Wahid al-Nur (SLM-AW) Wednesday denied statements by Sudanese army and Central Darfur government about the seizure of Sroung, the last rebel stronghold in Jebel Marra area.
The Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) spokesperson Tuesday issued a statement announcing that it managed to retake, Sroung located north-west of Jebel Marra. Several days before, the Central Darfur state issued a detailed statement mentioning the capture of Tekno and Keiwi before.

At least 234 militants were killed or wounded in the latest raids of the Afghan National Security Forces in the past 24 hours.
The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said at least 110 militants were killed, 124 militants were wounded and 13 others were arrested during the operations.
