A new militant group, Red Egbesu Water Lions, has surfaced in the Niger Delta region, just as suspected militants, Tuesday night, blew up the Sagbama-Tuomo gas line, belonging to Nigerian Agip Oil Company, NAOC, at Egbembiri, Southern law local government area of Bayelsa State.
A security source, who confirmed the explosion, said: “Egbembiri is a border town between Bayelsa and Delta states. They destroyed the Ayama section of the Ogboinbiri-Tuomo gas pipeline with dynamites at about 9.00 pm on Tuesday. That line was earlier repaired, last week and again vandalized.”

The semi-autonomous region of Somaliland is renewing calls for international recognition of its self-declared independence from Somalia.
Somaliland on Wednesday celebrated 25 years since the region proclaimed independence from Somalia. Thousands of civilians and military personnel paraded in front of dignitaries in the capital Hargeisa as the government showed off its Soviet-era military arsenal.

Three bombings killed at least 63 people Tuesday in Baghdad. More than 100 are reportedly injured, as Iraq enters a second consecutive week of mass bloodshed.
The attacks are continuant with other recent strikes on predominantly Shiite areas of the Iraqi capital.

A Libyan militia spokesman says militias from the western city of Misrata are battling Islamic State militants and have seized vital checkpoints after a brief takeover by the IS.
Mohammed Shamia told The Associated Press Tuesday that the Misrata forces captured three areas south of Misrata including Abu Grain. He said warplanes have bombed IS forces withdrawing from their positions.

The Burma Army helped by Border Guard Force troops (BGF) fought with a Democratic Karen Benevolent Army (DKBA)’s splinter group for over two hours in Pyar Pin Village, Kawkareik Township, Karen State at 5am on 11 May.
A BGF major who did not want to be named said that two bombs exploded in the early hours of 11 May, one at 12.45am and the other at 1.55am. At 5.30am the DKBA splinter group, led by Bo Nar Ma, then started firing at the joint Burma Army and BGF forces from a hill near Pyar Pin Village.
