Turkey: Roadside PKK bomb attack wounds 8 soldiers in Diyarbakir
Eight Turkish soldiers were wounded in a roadside PKK bomb attack in Turkey’s southeastern Diyarbakir province Friday, regional governor’s office said.
According to a statement issued by the Diyarbakir Governor’s Office, PKK terrorists detonated the bomb on the single lane Diyarbakir-Silvan road when a military vehicle passed by.
“Eight soldiers in the armored vehicle have been wounded. The wounded soldiers have been taken to hospital after they were given first aid,” the statement said.
The PKK — listed as a terrorist organization also by the U.S., and the EU — resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.
