Iraq: Iraqi forces liberate al-Shuhada neighborhood in Fallujah killing 42 terrorists
Iraqi forces managed to recapture a neighborhood in southern Fallujah from Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) terrorist group in a massive operation, killing 42 militants, the commander of Fallujah Operation announced.
Iraq’s army troops, police and anti-terrorism forces retook al-Shuhada neighborhood, south of Fallujah, from Daesh terrorists, Major General Abdul al-Wahab al-Saadi was quoted as saying by Arabic-language Alsumariya TV network.
The commander added that the army is preparing to attack another neighborhood in the city, which is among the main strongholds of Daesh.
The massive operation to liberate Fallujah is underway with the cooperation of Iraqi air force, volunteer forces known as Popular Mobilization Forces or Hashid al-Shaabi, as well as international coalition jet fighters.
