Afghanistan: 131 ISIS fighters killed by Afghan security forces in ongoing clashes in Nangarhar
At least 131 Daesh (ISIS) fighters were killed in an ongoing clash with Afghan security forces in Nangarhar province, Afghanistan on Saturday, reported TOLO news.
The fight that started on Friday, after over 600 Daesh rebels attacked security force members in Nangarhar, has resulted in the death of seven security forces members and five civilians. 31 others were injured, officials confirmed.
As the clashes continue, over 200 local police members have been deployed near Sayed Ahmad Khail and Sepai villages.
Operations to eliminate insurgents has begun in Nangarhar, assured General Dad Mohammad Harifi, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) .
Several elders from tribal communities have declared their support for the Afghan forces in the ensuing fight against the Daesh rebels.
