Thirty-two troops have been killed in a clash with Boko Haram jihadists on Niger’s border with Nigeria, Niger’s defence ministry said on Saturday.
“Hundreds of assailants” attacked a military post at Bosso on Friday evening, it said in a statement that gave a “provisional toll” of 30 Nigerien and two Nigerian soldiers killed and 67 wounded.

Extremist jihadists of the Islamic State (ISIS) on Thursday executed 19 Yezidi girls by burning them to death, activists and eyewitnesses reported.
The victims, who had been taken by ISIS jihadis as sex slaves, were placed in iron cages in central Mosul and burned to death in front of hundreds of people.

Eight Turkish soldiers were wounded in a roadside PKK bomb attack in Turkey’s southeastern Diyarbakir province Friday, regional governor’s office said.
According to a statement issued by the Diyarbakir Governor’s Office, PKK terrorists detonated the bomb on the single lane Diyarbakir-Silvan road when a military vehicle passed by.

The Defense Ministry of Nagorno Karabakh says overnight June 1-2 Azerbaijan fired sniper rifles and AGS-17 grenade launcher at the Nagorno Karabakh line of contact.
The NKR Defense Ministry’s announcement reads: “Overnight June 1-2 the situation, in general, was calm in the line of contact between Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing forces.

Al-Qaeda’s North African branch has claimed attacks in northern Mali that killed a Chinese UN peacekeeper and three civilians, the US-based monitoring group SITE said Wednesday.
The attacks on Tuesday come days after five UN peacekeepers were killed in an ambush in central Mali, as concern grows over the future of the UN’s deadliest active mission.
