Al-Qaeda-linked militants said they raided a base used by Ethiopian troops in central Somalia, killing at least 60 people. An African peacekeeping force said it repulsed the Islamists’ assault and inflicted dozens of casualties.
Al-Shabaab detonated a car-bomb at the base in the town of Halgan in Hiran region, before fighters stormed the facility, the group said in a statement published on the website of Radio Andalus, a broadcaster that supports its insurgency.

The Hamas terror group said in a statement early Thursday that the two gunmen who shot up a Tel Aviv cafe on Wednesday night were members of the organization.
At least four people were killed in the terror attack Wednesday night at the Sarona Market shopping complex, and another 16 were injured, including three in serious condition. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed “decisive action” to track down those responsible for the third deadly attack in the city this year.

Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Tuesday imposed a siege on the ISIS-held city of Manbij from three directions, after recapturing dozens of villages and farms in the vicinity of the city north of Syria’s Aleppo province.
“Supported by an air cover from the US-led coalition, the SDF troops took over the Manbij suburbs, imposing siege on ISIS militants inside the city,” a spokesman for the SDF military leadership told ARA News.

A Burma Army battalion and Arakan Army (AA) soldiers fought for around half an hour on Sunday afternoon near Rathedaung Township’s Kharu Chaung and Rakaung Chaung villages in Arakan State, but no casualties from either side were reported.
Wai Hun Aung of the Wunlark Development Foundation said that it took upward of an hour for the fighting to fully cease but that it was not as serious as previous incidents of conflict.
