Somalia: Hundreds of residents flee from Marka due to renewed violences
Hundreds of residents began to flee their houses in the southern coastal city of Marka due to renewed violence and from dawn to dusk curfew by forces under Somalia federal government.
The security deterioration of the town has forced people to run away and seek a better place in nearby areas in Lower Shabelle region, south of Somalia, according to a local resident.
The federal government troops in Marka have imposed day and night time curfew on the city after deadly bomb attacks on the military bases last week, killing at least three people.
The curfew is continuing for the third consecutive day and government troops have been patrolling the city’s main streets, in a move the beef up the security and thwart possible al-Shabaab militants.
