At least 13 people, including guards of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) and the United Nations (UN), were killed when two massive car bombs went off in Mogadishu, on Tuesday. Al-Shabaab, a terrorist organisation linked to al-Qaeda, claimed responsibility for both the suicide bomb attacks.
Three civilians were injured in the attack.
Al-Shabaab said that they killed killed “dozens of crusaders & apostates,” reported Al Jazeera.

Puntland and Somaliland governments in northern Somalia have agreed to de-escalate tensions in restive Sanaag region, Garowe Online reports.
The decision was made in a phone call between Puntland President Abdiweli Mohamed Ali and Somaliland Vice President Abdirahman Saylici in the aftermath of deadly clashes in the BodaAdde.

Security forces in North Sinai have reportedly killed 15 militants and injured another 12 following severe clashes Saturday.
Citing a security source in North Sinai, privately-owned newspaper Al-Watan reported that a terrorist cell raided a school near Rafah’s border as they were being chased by security forces. The forces then put the school under siege and clashes broke out between the militants and security forces.

The Ukrainian military over the past 24 hours ten times shelled positions of the people’s militia in the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), the republic’s defense ministry told the LuganskInformCenter on Sunday.
The ministry said “the Kalinovo settlement was shelled seven times.” Besides, the Ukrainian military shelled Kalinovka, Logvinovo and Smeloye.
