Fighting between the Myanmar Border Guard Forces (BGF), along with the Tatmadaw, and the Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA) in Methawaw, Kayin State, has intensified, according to local sources.
The two sides have begun shelling each other with heavy artillery in recent days, said an unnamed commander from the BGF.

The separatist leader in eastern Ukraine’s Donetsk region has announced a unilateral cease-fire starting at midnight on Wednesday.
In a recorded statement aired on Russian television Tuesday, Alexander Zakharchenko said he had ordered rebel troops to cease fire and urged Ukraine to do the same. He accused Kyiv of a “lack of willingness to solve the problem in a peaceful manner.”

About 30 rebels and an undisclosed number of government troops were killed during fighting in western Sudan near the border with Chad, a senior government official was quoted as saying Saturday.
Sudanese officials said government troops on Friday repulsed an attack by forces from the rebel Sudan Liberation Army, a little known group operating in the Darfur region of western Sudan.

A truce brokered by the US and Russia has come into effect nationwide except in jihadi-held areas. A monitoring group said “calm is prevailing” so far, though not all warring parties have formally signed onto the deal.
The nationwide Syrian ceasefire went into effect at 7 p.m. local time (1600 UTC) under an agreement announced on Friday by the United States and Russia.

The eastern Libyan army is an ally of the parliament that is in charge in the country’s east and has not received the support of the international community.
“The armed forces have taken full control of the areas of oil crescent, including the ports of Sidra, Brega, Ras Lanuf, as well as over 80 percent of Zueitina deposit,” Obeidi said.
