Bangladesh: 8 militants, including a woman, blew themselves with a grenade in Nasirpur

Police urged the militants in Nasirpur, northeast of the capital Dhaka, to give themselves up on Wednesday, but instead they detonated the grenade.

“Up to eight militants, including a female, were killed,” Monirul Islam, the chief of police for counter-terrorism and transnational crime, told reporters.

Burma-Myanmar: Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army muslim militants deny terrorist links

An armed militant group fighting Myanmar’s government on behalf of the country’s Rohingya Muslim minority has issued a statement asserting its right to self defence and denying links to any terrorist groups.

The statement, dated March 29 but released on Tuesday through overseas sympathisers, is the first public announcement issued in the name of the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army, which previously called itself the Faith Movement, or Harakah al-Yaqin. Analysts including the Brussels-based International Crisis Group say it has been carrying out armed resistance.

Iraq: A bankrupt Islamic State (IS) struggling to pay its fighters

Iraq’s former finance minister said that Islamic State is on the verge of bankruptcy and is now running out of money and struggling to pay its fighters.

During the terrorist group’s heyday, IS would get almost $4.3 million out of their huge web of criminal enterprises around the world to finance their network.

Spain: Basque separatist group Euskadi Ta Askatasuna (ETA) announces full disarm by April 8 2017

Basque civil society groups will fully disarm the separatist group ETA by April 8, a French environmental activist with ties to the Basque community promised Friday.

The militants announced a permanent cease-fire in 2011, but the governments of Spain and France have so far refused to take part in its disarmament because ETA tied it to the future of its militants, both in and out of jail. The two countries have demanded that ETA lay down its weapons without conditions and disband.

Democratic Republic of the Congo: Fighters of Kamwina Nsapu militia decapitate 42 police officers in ambush

Fighters from the Kamwina Nsapu group attacked a police convoy where six policemen who spoke the local Tshiluba were freed, but the rest were killed.

“They ambushed the policemen as they traveled from Tshikapa to Kananga”, Ambrose Muwasa, a senior security officer, told the Anadolu Agency.
