The U.S. is reportedly ready to launch a preemptive strike against North Korea if officials believe Pyongyang is going to go through with a nuclear weapons test.
Citing multiple senior U.S. intelligence officials, NBC News reported Thursday that the U.S. is prepared to launch the strike against North Korea with conventional weapons.

The U.S. military said it conducted a strike on an ISIS-K tunnel complex in the Achin district of Nangarhar province, Afghanistan, on Thursday.
A U.S. aircraft dropped a GBU-43 Massive Ordnance Air Blast, also known as a MOAB, as part of ongoing efforts to defeat ISIS-Khorasan in Afghanistan, according to a statement from U.S. Central Command.

Fifteen Islamic State militants were killed in an airstrike in al-Hadar region in Nineveh, western Mosul, according to Iraqi government.
In a statement, the Defense Ministry’s War Media Cell said on Wednesday that “an airstrike targeted a gathering of IS militants in al-Shaihan village, al-Hadar area, depending on federal investigations and information.”

Fifteen al-Shabaab terrorists were killed and many injured in an ambush attack by security forces in Somalia, the Kenyan military has announced.
The Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) spokesman Col. Joseph Owuoth said in a statement late Monday that Kenyan soldiers working under the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) ambushed an al-Shabaab terrorist camp 100 kilometers from the border town of El Wak, in the Gedo region of Somalia.

Three militiamen were killed while six soldiers, including two officers, and 11 other militiamen were wounded in clashes with Abu Sayyaf bandits in Sumisip, Basilan on Monday morning.
Captain Jo-Ann Petinglay, spokesperson of the Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom), said the first encounter happened at 7:15 a.m. in Barangay Cabcaban.
