Six soldiers were killed in Yemen on Thursday, a military source said, as government forces seek to cement their control over Marib province, east of the rebel-held capital.
The source said 14 Shiite rebels were also killed over the past 24 hours in intense fighting for Sarwah, the last district in the mainly Sunni province still held by the rebels.

Myanmar’s military has engaged in deadly clashes with ethnic minority rebels in the northeast in the past week, state media reported on Wednesday, as concern grows for three reporters detained by the military in the region.
The journalists were taken into military custody in northern Shan State on Monday after covering a drug-burning event organised by the rebel Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), which demands more autonomy for the Ta’ang ethnic group.

Sudan People’s Liberation Movement/North (SPLM/N)-Agar said its fighters repulsed an attack by the government forces in the Blue Nile state on Monday.
“On the second day of Eid al-Fitr feast 26/6/2017 at 5:00 am, SPLM/N forces in Blue Nile region repulsed NCP forces and militias attack on an SPLA/N position in Khour Jadad area,” said SPLM-N-Agar spokesperson Mubarak Ardol in a statement extended to Sudan Tribune on Tuesday.

Eight Chadian soldiers were killed in fierce fighting with Boko Haram insurgents at the weekend on islands on Lake Chad, the army said Monday.
“Our forces attacked Boko Haram elements on five islands near Nigeria on June 24 and 25,” said Chad army spokesman Colonel Azem, indicating eight soldiers had died and another 18 were wounded.

Eight people were arrested in connection with the deadly explosion at an upscale mall in Colombia, the country’s National Police said.
Three people were killed and 11 others injured on June 17 when an explosive device rocked a mall in the tourist district of Colombia’s capital Bogota.
