Iraq: Peshmerga ward off Islamic State (IS) militants massive attack south of Kirkuk
Kurdish Peshmerga forces repelled overnight Thursday a massive attack by Islamic State (IS) militants in souther Kirkuk areas, officials confirmed.
After hours of fierce fire exchange, the offensive was defeated with several jihadists killed or injured, Peshmerga commander Mohammed Qader told BasNews.
No casualties on the side of Peshmerga forces was reported.
The clash took place near villages around Daquq district, where is mainly populated by Kurdish Kakayis.
