The forces from the Yemeni Army managed to take control of a number of highlands where the militias were based in Baqim district, north of Saada governorate - a stronghold of the Houthis.
According to field sources, the elite forces that were formed from the 102nd Brigade and the 63rd Infantry Brigade, launched a large-scale attack on the Directorate of Baqim from three days.

Hours after a van drove into a crowd of people in Barcelona, Spain, Spanish police say they’ve stopped a second terrorist attack.
Authorities say the two attacks are linked.
Police say five suspects wearing explosives — later determined to be fake — were killed after a shootout with security forces in the Catalan coastal town of Cambrils located about 70 miles southwest of Barcelona. Six civilians and a police officer were injured, police said early Friday.

A van on Thursday mowed through crowds of tourists on Barcelona’s Las Ramblas district, killing at least thirteen people, Reuters reported. The van had swerved off the sidewalk into an area near the Las Ramblas avenue, a popular tourist district of the city usually crowded with foreigners who frequent the bars and shops on the stretch of this historical market area.
“We can confirm there are 13 dead and more than 50 injured,” regional interior minister Joaquim Forn said on Twitter. Police confirmed the arrest of two men behind the incident, news agency AP said. One of the suspects was named by the police union as Driss Oukabir.

A new round of fighting has erupted between the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement/North (SPLM-N) factions in the Blue Nile as both sides exchanged accusations concerning responsibility for the bloody clashes.
The SPLM-N is now divided into two factions: one in the Nuba Mountains led by Abdel Aziz al-Hilu and the other in the White Nile State led by Malik Agar. The rift emerged several months ago over the right of self-determination and other issues.

A local official in Nigeria’s northeastern village of Mandarari says 20 people have been killed in an attack by suspected Boko Haram extremists at a camp near a market.
Village chief Lawan Kalli said Tuesday at least three suicide bombers entered the market around 5 p.m. posing as buyers, then went to the nearby camp for people displaced by Nigeria’s conflict and simultaneously detonated their explosives.
