Burma-Myanmar: Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) and army clashes in Namhsan displace over 100 people

Clashes between the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) and the Tatmadaw erupted in Khay Khin and Man Wel villages, part of Namhsan Township, Shan State, on Tuesday morning, sending more than 100 locals fleeing to neighbouring Namtu Township.

Currently, the displaced are seeking refuge in Pote Bar Yone Parirati Shwe Kyin Monastery in the town of Namtu. The monastery continued to receive more civilians on Wednesday.

Democratic Republic of the Congo: Security forces kill at least 14 Bundu dia Kongo (BDK) separatist rebels

Congolese security forces killed at least 14 members of separatist sect Bundu dia Kongo (BDK) on Monday during clashes in the capital Kinshasa and southwestern city of Matadi.

At least one police officer also died, police said.

Iraq: Islamic State (IS) claims over 60 Iraqi soldiers killed in suicide bombing

The Islamic State (IS) on Monday claimed it killed over 60 Iraqi soldiers in a suicide bombing near the Iraq-Syria border, according to a message intercepted by the SITE Intelligence Group.

The militant group said their fighters attacked bases in the Jamouna area, near al-Tanaf in Syria, where they killed 68 Iraqi soldiers.

Afghanistan: Joint Taliban-ISIS attack kills dozens of people, Afghan officials say

Dozens of civilians and militia forces were killed in northern Afghanistan in what officials on Sunday described as an attack by Taliban fighters teamed up with a commander claiming allegiance to the Islamic State. If true, the open cooperation between the militant groups, which have sometimes fought turf battles in the past, could be further trouble for the struggling Afghan government.

Sayad district, in northern Sar-e-Pul province, had put up a fierce defense over the past two years against attacks by insurgents as other parts of the province seemed to be buckling under Taliban pressure. Several local officials say the Taliban joined forces with Sher Mohammed Ghazanfar, a local commander claiming allegiance to the Islamic State, to overrun the Mirza Olang area. Then he turned to blocking local militiamen, as well as civilians, from fleeing.

Syria: Army of Revolution Commando rebels kill capture Iranian allied militants near Zakf military base

A number of Syrian regime forces allied Iranian militants were killed and others were captured, on Saturday, in an ambush set by the Syrian rebels, while clashes broke out between the two sides, east of Homs.

Qasioun News reported that a number of Iranian militants were killed and others were wounded, at dawn today, in an ambush set by Syrian rebels’ Jaysh Maghaweer al-Thawra (Army of Revolution Commando), near al-Zakf base, east of Homs.
