Fierce clashes erupted between the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Daesh terrorist group on the eastern banks of Euphrates River in the outskirts of Deir Ezzor, the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on Saturday.
The SDF aim to advance on Daesh terrorists in eastern Euphrates River, while Daesh militants managed to control Abu Hamam city and other areas there, Sky News channel quoted SOHR as saying.

Israeli tanks and aircraft struck the Gaza Strip Friday after three rockets were fired from the Palestinian enclave towards Israel, according to Palestinian and Israeli military sources.
The attacks occurred as thousands of Palestinians took to the streets of Gaza and the occupied West Bank for a fourth straight day in protest of U.S. President Donald Trump’s December 6 decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

At least 10 people, including eight Coptic Christians, were killed after unidentified gunmen opened fire outside a church in a south Cairo suburb, Egypt’s Health Ministry spokesman said Friday. It was the latest attack targeting the mostly Muslim country’s embattled minority.
Health Ministry spokesman Khaled Megahed said the attack outside the Coptic Church of Mar Mina left at least one policeman dead and eight others wounded, including two critically. The attack took place when two gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire outside the church, he said.

ISIS has claimed responsibility for a suicide bomb attack on a Shia cultural center in Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul, that left 41 people dead and dozens injured.
Two children were among the dead and 84 people were injured in the blast, according to a Health Ministry spokesman.

Burmese army troops currently based at Mali Yang fired several mortar rounds on gold mines along Mali Hka and Houng Ing in Sumpra Bum area on Dec 26. Local residents said a few mortar shells fell near their homes in Ja Ra Yang village. No casualties have been reported so far.
On Christmas day, Burmese army troops reportedly fired over 100 mortar rounds on amber mines in Danai Township.
