Syria: Turkey sends special forces against Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) in Afrin
Turkish Army has deployed fresh troops to the war against Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) in northwestern Syria’s Afrin district.
Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag said on Monday that police special forces were sent to the frontline with Kurds as reinforcement.
The deployment comes after Ankara claimed the same day making some territorial gains around Afrin, which, according to Turkish media, lays a siege on the Kurdish town densely populated by civilians.
