Fighting raged on in Syria’s Eastern Ghouta on Tuesday, making relief operations in the rebel enclave impossible despite a “humanitarian pause” announced by Russia, the United Nations said.
“Fighting continues this morning. That is what our reports from Eastern Ghouta tell us,” said Jens Laerke, a spokesman for the UN humanitarian office.

Turkish Army has deployed fresh troops to the war against Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) in northwestern Syria’s Afrin district.
Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag said on Monday that police special forces were sent to the frontline with Kurds as reinforcement.

On Friday night, the militants used heavy artillery (122, 152-mm) to attack the Ukrainian Army in Donbass, according to the Ukrainian Army HQ.
“In Luhansk sector, at around 21:00, the enemy shelled the strongholds of Ukrainian soldiers in Donbass with Minsk-banned weapons - artillery of 122-mm calibre,” the report says.

Three bombs exploded early Saturday, February 24, in the capital of Myanmar’s Rakhine state, a cauldron of ethnic tensions roiled by insurgencies and a military crackdown on the Muslim Rohingya, injuring one police officer, officials said.
The 3 blasts at separate locations around Sittwe included one at the home of a high-ranking official, police told Agence France-Presse (AFP).

A wave of attacks across Afghanistan has left more than 25 people dead, most of them soldiers, officials say.
In the worst incident, Taliban militants stormed an army post in the western province of Farah, killing 22 soldiers.
