Heavy fighting broke out between the Rwandan and Congolese military in troubled eastern DR Congo after an incursion by Rwandan troops, according to a Congolese army spokesman.
Investigations are underway to see if the clashes occurred because of a problem with border demarcation.

At least 43 Taliban fighters have been killed and 20 others wounded during a clash with Afghan security forces in Afghanistan’s southern Kandahar province, said official on Tuesday.
Dozens of insurgents stormed the Nesh district police headquarters that drew a strong response from Afghan security forces, Matiullah Hilal, Deputy Spokesperson for provincial police, told media.

A brazen weekend attack by heavily armed militants who stormed an Indian Army base in the Jammu region killed at least five soldiers and a civilian, army officials said on Sunday.
It was one of the deadliest attacks on the army in recent years, and Indian officials quickly blamed a Pakistan-based militant group.

Following a new day of gains, the Turkish Army and allied Free Syrian Army militias are now advancing on one of the largest towns in Syria’s Afrin region. It is unclear weather or not Kurdish forces will attempt to defend the stronghold.
On Sunday morning, Turkey-led forces resumed their assault across Afrin from multiple directions.

An Israeli fighter has been shot down as the country’s air force carried out attacks against Iranian targets in Syria after intercepting a drone.
The military said its planes faced massive anti-aircraft fire from Syria that forced two pilots to abandon an F-16 jet that crashed in northern Israel, seriously wounding one and lightly injuring the other.
