Syria: Syrian army launches small offensive against rebels in northeast of Daraa

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a small offensive in the northeastern countryside of the Daraa Governorate tonight.

Backed by heavy artillery and missiles, the Taha Group of the Tiger Forces made their second attempt to capture the Air Defense Base that is located near the strategic town of Busra Al-Harir.

Philippines: Fresh clashes in Central Mindanao displace hundreds of families

Renewed clashes between government forces and Daesh-inspired terrorists displaced hundreds of residents in several villages in Lanao del Sur as the army pressed on with its operations to root out militants.

Col. Romeo Brawner, spokesperson of the Task Force Ranao, said pursuit operations continue against combatants of a radical faction of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) and remnants of the clan-based Maute group.

Nigeria: Dozens killed in suspected Boko Haram attack in Damboa

At least 31 people have been killed in a twin suicide bomb attack by suspected Boko Haram fighters on a town in northeast Nigeria, according to local sources.

Two blasts ripped through the Damboa government area in Borno state on Saturday evening targeting people returning from celebrating the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

Yemen: Yemeni Coalition liberates Hodeida airport from al-Houthi

Yemeni government forces, backed by the Arab Coalition, recaptured on Saturday a main airport in the strategic city of Hodeida, a major win in an ongoing campaign aimed at flushing Iran-backed al-Houthi militias from the Red Sea city.

The Yemeni army said that joint forces liberated the airport from Al Houthis and that engineering teams started clearing the facility from mines and explosives left behind by fleeing rebels.

Libya: Es Sider and Ras Lanuf terminals shut down after clashes between Libyan National Army and the Benghazi Defense Brigades

The Es Sider oil export terminal in Libya was shut down and loadings at another one, Ras Lanuf, were suspended today after clashes between the Libyan National Army and the Benghazi Defense Brigades, Reuters reports, citing local sources.

At least one oil storage tank in Ras Lanuf has been set on fire, but oilfields have not been affected by the clashes yet, the sources said.
