Six suspected members of the New People’s Army (NPA) in Negros Oriental were killed in separate encounters with government forces during the weekend, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said.
The fatalities were identified as Reneboy Fat, Demetrio Fat, Dondon Isugan, Constancio Languita, Jun Cubul, and Jaime Revilla.

Four militants were killed Saturday in an encounter with security forces in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, the Army said.
The security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the Hanjan area Saturday morning after receiving specific information about the presence of militants there, an Army official said.

Yemen’s Houthi forces have started to redeploy from the port of the Red Sea city of Hodeidah as part of a U.N.-sponsored peace agreement signed in Sweden earlier this month, a U.N. source and a spokesman for the group said on Saturday.
The Iranian-aligned Houthis have agreed with the Saudi-backed government to implement a ceasefire in Hodeidah province and withdraw their respective forces.

Egypt says police killed 40 militants Saturday following a deadly bomb attack that targeted tourists near the Great Pyramids.
Authorities raided three militant hideouts and said the extremists were planning attacks on tourist spots, Christian churches and government targets.

Kurdish leaders in northern Syria have appealed to Damascus for protection from a threatened Turkish military attack, as they reel from the decision by Donald Trump to withdraw US troops from the war-torn country.
Syrian state media claimed on Friday that regime forces had entered the Kurdish-controlled city of Manbij close to the Turkish border, as the government grinds towards its stated aim of retaking “every inch” of the country after nearly eight years of civil war.
