Four hundred fighters from a Chadian rebel group in Libya have surrendered their weapons and are “back on the side of the law,” Chad Defense Minister General Daoud Yaya Brahim told AFP on Monday, March 11.
The rebels from the Union of Forces for Democracy and Development (UFDD) “decided to surrender the guns and respond to the head of state’s outstretched hand,” the minister said.

Israel struck dozens of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip in response to the firing of several rockets into the Tel Aviv area.
Sirens alerted residents that rockets were coming into the area just after 9 p.m. local time on Thursday. Hours later, Israeli aircraft carried out the strikes.

The Israeli military said Thursday that two rockets were fired at Tel Aviv from the Gaza Strip, though no injuries had been reported.
The two fired rockets set off sirens in Tel Aviv, with several explosions heard in the city, Reuters reported, citing the Israeli military and witnesses.

More than 3,000 ISIS fighters have surrendered amid a pitched battle by US-backed forces to retake the last ISIS stronghold in Syria.
Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) spokesman Mustafa Bali claimed by Tuesday evening the number of ISIS members who had laid down arms had “risen to 3,000.”

Three leaders of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) were among those reported killed as the military stepped up its offensive against the bandits in Maguindanao.
Salahudin Hassan, a certain Commander Bastardo and a certain Mauwiyah, a supposed bomb expert, were said to be among 20 BIFF men killed in air and ground strikes in Shariff Saydona town on Monday.
