Libya: Attack on Tripoli’s Rixos hotel hosting Libyan officials’ meetings
A Tripoli hotel used for meetings by Libya’s UN-backed government was damaged in an apparent rocket attack on Friday.
The Government of National Accord led by Prime Minister Fayez Al Sarraj blamed forces loyal to a rival administration for the early morning attack on the Rixos hotel.
There was no comment from the Libyan National Army led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, whose troops have been trying to take Tripoli since the beginning of April.
The GNA’s interior ministry published pictures of a damaged room at the Rixos. No other information about the strike was immediately available.
