Libya: East-based army launches attacks on Libyan government forces in Tripoli
Libya’s eastern-based army on Monday said it carried out two attacks in the capital Tripoli against the forces of the UN-backed government.
The army’s operation chamber said the army attacked the operation chamber of the government forces in southern Tripoli last night and killed a number of government troops.
Another attack was carried out by the army in central Tripoli on a military vehicle of the government forces, killing the vehicle driver and injuring others, it added.
The army, led by Khalifa Haftar, has been leading a military campaign since early April to take over Tripoli from the government.
