More than 100 fighters were killed in clashes between regime and jihadist-led forces in northwest Syria, a war monitor said Thursday, as violence raged on the edge of an opposition bastion despite a September truce deal.
Eight civilians also died in the latest violence, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said. Six of them, including a child, were killed in regime air strikes on the town of Jisr al-Shughur.

The Yemeni army killed 20 Houthi militants during clashes in Dhale province, south of the country, Saudi national news agency SPA reported on Wednesday.
The militia were trying to infiltrate a district in Dhale when the Yemeni troops launched a counter attack, forcing them to flee.

Kyiv says one of its soldiers has been killed and three others wounded in a battle with Russia-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine.
The Defense Ministry said on July 8 that separatist fighters violated a cease-fire 16 times in a 24-hour period, using 120- and 82-millimeter mortars, tank weapons, and 122-millimeter artillery shells that are banned under the Minsk peace agreements.

Fighter jets of the Saudi Arabia-led coalition on Sunday launched airstrikes against a military base of the Houthi rebels in Yemen’s central province of Ibb, a government official told Xinhua.
A number of Houthi military sites and gatherings inside Hamzah military base, located in the district of Sabrah in the southeast of the province, were targeted in five Saudi-led airstrikes, the government official said on condition of anonymity.
