East Libya-based forces said they had carried out air strikes on the port city of Misrata in the early hours of Tuesday, targeting armored vehicles delivered from Turkey and a munitions depot.
The strikes came hours after a deadly air strike on a biscuit factory in the capital Tripoli, 190 kms (118 miles) to the west, that the United Nations envoy to Libya said could constitute a war crime.

Twenty-four soldiers have been killed in an attack by militants in eastern Mali, the country’s army has said.
Another 29 were also injured during a joint operation between troops from Mali and Niger in the Gao border region.

The Burkina Faso army said on Sunday it had killed 32 “terrorists” in two operations in the north of the country, days after dozens of people were killed in an ambush on a convoy transporting employees of a Canadian mining company.
The army said 24 people were killed in the first operation on Friday and a further eight in a second on Saturday.

ISIS Libya pledged Friday allegiance to the new leader of the terrorist group Abu Ibrahim Al-Hashemi Al-Qurashi after the killing of the ringleader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi.
ISIS media outlets posted photos of about 32 militants in different areas in what they called “Wilayat Barqa” - Cyrenaica Region - saying it took place this month.

To most, a functionally independent country that lies in the northern part of modern Somalia with a separate government, education system, and even a coast guard would be something out of a fantasy novel. However, Somaliland, hidden on the Horn of Africa, is exactly that.
Its four million people declared independence in 1991—the second time they have done so since the colonial period—and have established a robust democracy that has seen peaceful transfers of power between political rivals in 2002 and 2010.
