Yemen: Houthi rebels say Sudan troops suffering heavy casualties

The spokesperson for the Houthi army has said that over 4,000 Sudanese forces fighting with the Saudi-UAE coalition in Yemen have been killed since 2015.

The Houthis have also accused the coalition of pushing Sudanese troops to the front lines and not prioritising captured Sudanese soldiers whenever prisoner swaps have been arranged.

Afghanistan: Taliban attack on a convoy kills 10 people in Badakhshan province

At least 10 people were killed when Taliban insurgents attacked a security convoy in northern Afghanistan, an official confirmed on Sunday.

The ambush took place in Nusai district of the remote northern province of Badakhshan bordering Tajikistan, police spokesman Sanaullah Ruhani told Anadolu Agency.

Mali: Militants armed attack kills 53 soldiers in Indelimane

At least 53 Malian soldiers and a civilian were killed on Nov. 1 by militants who attacked a military post, a government spokesman said.

“Following the attack of the FAMA (Armed Forces of Mali) position in Indelimane, the reinforcements dispatched found 54 bodies including 1 civilian, 10 survivors & found significant material damage,” Yaya Sangare said in a short statement on Twitter.

Israel: 10 rockets launched at Israel, later army struck Hamas posts in Gaza Strip

A barrage of ten rockets launched from the Gaza Strip targeted Israel on Friday evening, marking the second such attack in two days. The Israeli military said that eight of the rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system.

A house in the southern Israeli city of Sderot was hit by shrapnel. Emergency medical responders said that the residents of the house, a couple in their forties and their children, had been staying in their home’s safety shelter and were not injured.

Syria: ISIS terrorist group confirms al-Baghdadi’s death and names his successor Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Quraishi

The Islamic State on Thursday confirmed the death of its founder and leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and announced a successor. The propaganda arm of ISIS also confirmed the death of another top ISIS official, its former spokesman.

In an audio message released through its central media operation, the group’s new spokesman announced that Baghdadi’s successor is a man named Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Quraishi. He is a figure largely unknown outside of ISIS circles and is hailed in the message as “emir of the believers” and “caliph” of the group’s alleged caliphate.
