Afghanistan: Suicide bomber kills 3 people and injures 15 in Kabul

A suicide bomber killed at least three people and wounded 15 others after detonating explosives near a military outpost in Kabul on Wednesday, an official confirmed, in the first attack to rock the Afghan capital in weeks.

Interior ministry spokesman Tareq Arian confirmed the death count, calling the blast “a crime by the enemy of Afghanistan against civilians during the month of Ramadan”.

Libya: Khalifa Haftar unilaterally declares himself ruler of Libya

Warlord Khalifa Haftar on Monday unilaterally declared himself the ruler of Libya.

In a video message, Haftar pointed to street demonstrations in areas under his control, and claimed he “accepted the mandate of the Libyan people” to govern the country.

Burundi: Burundian army has attacked Red Tabara rebels in Democratic Republic of the Congo

Burundi military reinforced by Rwandan rebels FDLR have reportedly involved in intense gun battle against Red Tabara rebel movement in neighbouring DR Congo.

According to local media reports in Burundi, the fighting has been sighted in Masango in the Uvira area, South Kivu Province.

Yemen: Saudi-led coalition rejects Southern Transitional Council (STC) south Yemen self-rule declaration

A Saudi Arabia-led military coalition has rejected a separatist group’s declaration of self-rule in Yemen’s south, demanding “an end to escalatory actions” and return to a peace deal signed in November last year.

The Saudi statement on Monday comes a day after Yemen’s Southern Transitional Council (STC) declared a state of emergency and announced “self-administration rule” in regions under their control, including in the port city of Aden.

Pakistan: 2 Pakistani soldiers and 9 militants killed in North Waziristan clash

Pakistani military officials say at least two soldiers from Pakistan’s army and nine militants were killed in a gun battle late on April 25 near the border with Afghanistan.

Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations, the military’s media wing, said on April 26 that five Pakistani soldiers also were injured in the clash that took place in the volatile tribal region of North Waziristan.
