Nigeria’s air force on Monday said it conducted air strikes against Boko Haram on 27 June in the northeast region of the country, neutralizing the militants.
A statement from the Nigerian Defence Forces said the attack was carried out after acquiring intelligence that the bases in Warshale in the Northern part of Borno State were being used to launch terror attacks.

A Turkish soldier has died on Sunday in clashes with Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) fighters in northern Iraq, Turkey’s defence ministry said in a statement.
On June 17, Turkey launched an air and ground offensive against the PKK, which has fought an armed campaign against the Turkish state since 1984 and which is listed as a “terrorist” group by Ankara and its Western allies.

Thousands of people have fled a fresh wave of intercommunal clashes in South Sudan‘s eastern region of Pibor, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) said Thursday, adding it had suspended medical activities after its staff were forced to flee into the bush.
Brutal fighting has taken place between rival communities in the area in recent months, with clashes in May leaving over 200 dead, including an MSF staff member, the charity said in a statement. The latest violence erupted on June 15, it said.

Fierce fighting continued in southern Yemen between Emirati-backed separatists and the country’s internationally recognized government Thursday, security officials said, a blow to the Saudi-led coalition’s declared ceasefire between the factions.
Battles in the flashpoint Abyan province between Saudi-backed government forces and Emirati-funded southern secessionists killed at least 54 fighters on both sides over the last 24 hours, said Yemeni security officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to brief the media.

A top Iranian commander on Wednesday claimed that the country’s armed forces had concluded a massive military operation and “cleared” an area close to the Iran-Iraq border of Kurdish opposition fighters.
The campaign began Tuesday and took place in an area between the Iranian province of Kurdistan known as the Chehel-Cheshme mountain range to the eastern border crossing with the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, according to Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ground Forces Commander Mohammed Pakpour.
