Sudan’s main rebel alliance has agreed to a peace deal with the government aimed at ending 17 years of conflict, official news agency SUNA said on Sunday.
The Sudan Revolutionary Front (SRF), an alliance of rebel groups from the western region of Darfur and the southern states of South Kordofan and Blue Nile, inked a peace agreement with the government late on Saturday.

Militias aligned with warlord Khalifa Haftar have violated a recently declared ceasefire, according to the Libyan army.
“The terrorist al Karama gangs and the Russian Wagner group affiliated with them attempted to target our valiant forces with more than 12 Grad missiles,” the government said in a statement on Facebook on Thursday.

Israel said it had launched air strikes against Hezbollah observation posts in Lebanon on Wednesday, after shots were fired from across the border towards its troops the previous evening.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blamed the shooting on Shiite militant group Hezbollah with which Israel fought a devastating month-long war in 2006, and pledged a ‘forceful’ response to any further incidents.

At least 24 civilians were killed over two days by a notorious militia in the Beni region of eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, where the army is battling armed groups, a local source said Wednesday.
The Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), a mainly Muslim movement that originated in Uganda in the 1990s has been blamed for more than 1,000 civilian deaths in the Beni region of North Kivu province since 2014.

The jihadist rebels launched a new attack on the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) stronghold of Joureen from their positions in the Jabal Al-Akrad region of northeastern Latakia on Wednesday.
According to field reports from the Hama Governorate, the jihadist rebels of either Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) or the Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP) fired several missiles towards the town of Joureen, resulting in a number of explosions near the Syrian Army’s headquarters in the area.
