The Myanmar military has extended its truce in the country until the end of next month—once again excluding Rakhine State, this time on the basis that the truce does not cover areas where state-declared terrorist groups are operating.
In a statement issued on Monday evening, the Tatmadaw (Myanmar’s military) said it would continue working to contain COVID-19 and to achieve peace by implementing Part 3 of the Union Accord, which was signed at last week’s fourth session of the 21st-Century Panglong Union Peace Conference.

Muslim militants allied with the Islamic State group set off a powerful motorcycle explosive followed by a suicide bombing that together killed 14 people on Monday, many of them soldiers, in the worst extremist attack in the Philippines this year, military officials said.
At least 75 soldiers, police and civilians were wounded in the midday bombings in Jolo town in southern Sulu province, regional military commander Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan said.

At least two operatives of the State Security Service (SSS) were killed, on Sunday, allegedly by members of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The secessionist group in a statement also said 21 of its members were killed by security operatives and 47 arrested.

Forces loyal to the Yemeni government on Saturday launched a large military offensive against the Houthi rebels in the southern province of Dhalea, a military official told Xinhua.
The joint pro-government forces, covered by warplanes of the Saudi-led coalition, attacked several locations of the Houthi rebels in the northern part of Dhalea, said a local military official on condition of anonymity.

Libya’s UN-recognised Government of National Accord announced a ceasefire across the country on Friday and called for demilitarising the contested strategic city of Sirte.
The Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) also called for parliamentary and presidential elections to be held in March, and for an end to an oil blockade imposed by rival forces since earlier this year.
